Frequently asked questions

What is Norexa ?
Norexa is an autonomous agent execution layer built on Ethereum. It enables users, DAOs, and protocols to outsource high-value DeFi tasks — such as yield farming, arbitrage, rebalancing, and governance — to modular, permissionless agents that are accountable through bonding and slashing.
Why is Norexa important ?
DeFi remains too complex, fast-moving, and fragmented for most users and DAOs. Norexa solves this by enabling intelligent, accountable automation that’s secure, non-custodial, and composable across protocols. It allows users to harness cutting-edge financial strategies without needing to constantly monitor the market or master complex tooling.
Who should use Norexa ?
  1. DeFi Users looking to passively earn yield or hedge risk via autonomous agents.
  2. DAOs & Protocols needing reliable, programmable automation for governance or treasury ops.
  3. Developers who want to create, monetize, and deploy execution strategies as agents.
  4. Asset Managers seeking scalable, customizable automation without building infrastructure from scratch.
Is Norexa a protocol or a platform ?
Both. Norexa is a protocol-first system that defines on-chain rules and agent execution boundaries. But it's also a platform — with SDKs, UIs, and an ecosystem of agents, strategies, and tools that make automation accessible to everyone.
Is Norexa permissionless ?
Yes. Anyone can create an agent, deploy a strategy, or integrate with existing vaults. However, agents must stake $NOREX and pass minimum safety requirements before being listed in the public marketplace.
What is the $NRX token used for ?
  • Bonding collateral for agent operations
  • Slashing enforcement for accountability
  • Job funding and task escrow
  • Access to premium agents or strategies
  • Governance voting for protocol upgrades and agent approvals
  • Delegation of support to trusted agents or pools
When does $NRX gain utility ?
Token utility is phased in. At launch, $NRX will be distributed and staked in preparation for the protocol rollout. As agents go live and vaults open, the token becomes active for bonding, task funding, access gating, and governance participation.
Is $NRX required to use Norexa ?
For basic use (e.g., depositing into a vault), no. However, advanced features — such as creating agents, accessing licensed strategies, or participating in governance — will require holding or staking $NRX.
How are early users and contributors rewarded ?
Early vault users, agent developers, and stakers may earn $NRX through performance-based incentives, ecosystem grants, or protocol-driven distribution events (e.g., task mining, bonding rewards).
What exactly is a Norexa agent ?
A Norexa agent is an autonomous on-chain executor — essentially, a smart contract that performs a defined DeFi strategy, like reallocating funds, voting in governance, or executing arbitrage trades. Agents are programmable, independently owned, and accountable to the protocol.
Can I create my own agent ?
Yes. Developers can build and deploy their own agents using the Norexa SDK. You can define your own strategies, set risk parameters, and monetize your agent via licensing or performance rewards.
Can agents steal funds ?
No. Agents do not have custody of user assets. They operate through vault contracts that enforce strict execution rules. Funds can only move within predefined bounds, and malicious behavior results in bond slashing.
How do I choose an agent to trust ?
Use the Norexa agent leaderboard, which displays each agent’s historical performance, ROI, uptime, gas efficiency, and slashing events. You can also filter by risk tolerance or specialization (e.g., yield, governance, hedging).
